When using the connect app or web portal you will need to give the application both microphone and camera permissions, otherwise audio and video won't work properly when on a call or visitation.
The process of enabling these will differ depending on the device type( Iphone or Android)
For Iphone iOS:
Step 1: Open Settings
Step 2: Tap Privacy
Step 3: Tap Microphone
Step 4: Toggle Access to turn on under Ameelio Connect
Step 5: Repeat and verify for for step three you select Camera and make sure Ameelio Connect has video permission as well.
If using an Android Device:
- On your Android phone, visit the gear icon to open Settings.
- Tap Security and privacy.
- Tap Privacy.
- To turn on or off Camera access and Microphone access, tap on the toggle under Controls and alerts.
- To allow or deny camera and microphone permissions for specific apps, tap Permission manager.
- Scroll down the Permission manager page and tap Camera.
- Tap on an app under Not allowed; select Allow only while using the app. You can also navigate to Allowed only while in use to tap on an app to deny the permissions.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 to manage your microphone settings by tapping on Microphone in the Permission manager.
Web Portal:
If you're using our web portal instead of the app by visiting app.ameelio.org you can check your permissions in your web browser to ensure this is also enabled on your computer with the following steps:
Google Chrome: Change a site's camera & microphone permissions
- Open Chrome .
- At the top right, click More Settings.
- Click Privacy and security Site settingsCamera or Microphone.

Select the option you want as your default setting.
- Review your blocked and allowed sites.
- To remove an existing exception or permission: To the right of the site, click Delete .
- To allow a site that you already blocked: Under "Not allowed," select the site's name and change the camera or microphone permission to "Allow."
